I downloaded a program called DriverMax (sorry dont remember the link) installed it and run it, it found sum drivers out dated, I looked for the Smi grabber driver in the list and select update.

Then used VLC player to view and record the video.

Im running Windows 10 and my device has VID 18ec and PID 5555.

The device is automatically recognized as USB2.0 PC CAMERA instead of video capture software.

I tried all drivers mentioned in this post and couldnt install any of them.

Tried AmCAP, Honestech, VirtualVCR, VirtualDUB, VideoView and VLC, in all available Video Standards.

Im having trouble getting my Windows 10 machine to even notice that its connected.

I have Win 10 Pro x64 1909 and using Virtualdub 1.9112 or 2.

I had a Logilink too and it worked very good until recently (due to an update of Windows 10).

I finally got it to work in only one software (VirtualDub) but the quality is really bad even though its an s-video and Im using the proper s-video cable for it.

Any advice to make the display better and get other programs to see it Maybe a different or better driver for it.

I will be looking for a used home DVD recorder to convert my tapes instead but for those who are still interested this is the only driver that worked for my unit.

Newer Windows 10 1903 does not allow me to get to anywhere I can update the settings for the EZCap, so I think it is still set for PAL instead of NTSC does anyone know how to get to those hardware settings I cannot get there via the Device Manager, nor the Devices and Printers in the control panel not even via Skype, like I used to be able to do.

As before opened Magix movie edit pro 17 to find it wouldnt recognise, Windows Live Movie Maker failed as well BUT Audacity did get the Audio as a test recording.

What is the problem here If VLC recognized the OEM Capture does that mean that the drivers are ok and the problem is somewhere else Help please.

Many people cant get it to work.
